ALCAZABA AND WALLED ENCLOSURE

Highlights within the historic center of Jerez de los Caballeros the enclosure walled and the Alcazaba

The wall is attributed to the Knights of the Templar Order. The oldest walled enclosure area is adjacent to the wall of the Moorish fortress. The walls have a length of 1.5 km and 10 m high, although projecting defensive towers, which became 26 of which are conserved 18. Throughout it were opened 6 doors giving access to the medieval city, some demolished in the nineteenth century .
